Santorini - charming captain's house in Oia

This beautiful 150 m² villa is located in a renovated old captain's house, literally in the heart of Oia. It was extensively restored in 2014 and is very quietly located next to a gardener's house and the village church. Just a few steps from the caldera and to most shops, as well as a main bus and taxi station, it is a real gem for those who prefer typical Greece. On the spacious balcony you can take a dip in the cool waters in your own private plunge pool.

The property consists of 2 floors with 2 terraces, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room. The rooms have been furnished very stylishly in the colours white and brown. A lot of attention was paid to keep the original charm of the captain's house. Thus, some old elements were artfully integrated into the new ambience perfectly.

On the northern tip of Santorini, the municipality of Oia nestles against the Aegean Sea. Oia is a coastal village characterised by its whitewashed houses carved into the cliffs and a large, water-filled caldera. With two million visitors a year, or almost 10 per cent of the total number of tourist arrivals in the whole country, the Greek island of Santorini has become one of the most popular tourist destinations. There are currently 75 airlines offering flights to Santorini, with up to 57 people a day reaching the island during the summer months. Visitors also arrive on cruise ships that dock at Santorini from March to December, dropping off up to 25,000 people a day. The island has come very close to achieving its goal of year-round tourism. In the winter of 2015-2016, around 100 hotels were open, representing one-eighth of the island's total accommodation capacity.
